About Funny Bus
How It All Started
In 2015, our founder Lisa Schnurr had a crazy idea: what if you could combine the best parts of a city tour with the energy of a comedy show—and throw in the fun of BYOB? After many late-night conversations, her husband Kevin Anderson was officially on board, and the two started shopping for a school bus. Most people said they were nuts. We say they are genius.
Kevin focused on transforming that old school bus into something completely different, while Lisa assembled a team of local comedians, history lovers, and hospitality pros who shared her vision. Together, this husband-and-wife team launched Funny Bus Comedy City Tours with just one bright red bus rolling through the streets of Charlotte.
Fast forward to today, and Funny Bus has become a must-do experience in Charlotte, Cleveland, and Atlanta. We’ve hosted more than 260,000 guests, worked with dozens of talented comedians, and created countless memories filled with laughter, learning, and maybe a little too much wine.
What started as one wild idea and one bright red bus has grown into a one-of-a-kind experience that brings people together through laughter, storytelling, and a fresh look at the cities we love. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or have lived in one of our cities your whole life, we’re proud to show you the sights, share the stories, and make you laugh along the way. Founder & CEO
Meet Kevin Anderson and Lisa Schnurr, founders of the Funny Bus Comedy City Tours. With more than 50 years of service industry in their blood this duo knows how to show guests a good time. Nothing makes them happier than to have a guest step off the bus with a huge smile and say "That was the best time ever!". They love welcoming old friends back each time and meeting all the new visitors that come to the Queen City. They enjoy going to comedy clubs to scout new talent and training the comedians on the history of Charlotte to share with all. When you board the bus they want you to feel comfortable and amused by the hilarious comedians they hand picked just for you. They welcome you to contact them at any time to share your experience about the tour or even a funny story. They would love to laugh with you!

Owners
Dean and Sarah Schnurr, married with over 50 years of combined experience in marketing and management, are seasoned event planners. They understand what makes an experience memorable and have applied these skills to ensure Funny Bus tours deliver top-notch entertainment. Hailing from Northern Ohio and having lived in the area for 25 years, they know Cleveland well. Since launching Funny Bus in 2020, they have immersed themselves in the local comedy scene, selecting the finest comedians to keep guests laughing throughout the tour. As hands-on owners, they often sit next to guests, encouraging riders to introduce themselves and share their Funny Bus experiences.
Summer Rose
Owner
Summer Rose, a proud Atlanta native, graduated from Chamblee High School and earned her B.A. in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University. After building a strong foundation in the restaurant industry, she transitioned into technology sales, where she found continued success. A natural connector and true people person, Summer brings energy, laughter, and a love for Atlanta everywhere she goes. Inspired by her passion for the city and its vibrant culture, she created a one-of-a-kind experience that blends local history, comedy, and fun. When she realized guests could BYOB, she knew it was the perfect formula—turning a city tour into an unforgettable celebration. Summer is thrilled to share this unique experience with Atlanta and beyond!
